General FAQ's

How is K11 different from any other fitness training institute in India?
We don’t know what the other courses are offering or whether their faculty is qualified to teach fitness sciences. What we can tell you for sure is that our courses are extremely comprehensive and the syllabi are scientifically validated. The K11 Diploma in Personal Training course has 25 intensive sessions of practical training that have only 6 students per Master Trainer that ensure personal attention and enough practice time. We have a fully equipped state-of-the-art LAB (gym floor) for the practical classes. This gives our students a clear edge as they become extremely effective fitness professionals.

If I don’t clear examinations, will I get a certificate?
In order to maintain and preserve the reputation of the K11 certification(s) and to ensure that employers across the country trust the certification, we do not offer any participation certificate which could be misused by a candidate to pretend that he/she has passed our examinations. Successful completion of all examinations is compulsory for certification in all the courses offered by the K11 School of Fitness Sciences.
Can the course(s) be fast-tracked as it is not possible for me to invest 6 months to a year for the course(s)?
We do not advise this because the best learning is possible if one follows the flow of theory first followed by practical classes i.e. understanding the ‘why’ first and then learning the ‘how’. But in case you are from outstation or if your job does not allow 6 months, you may either choose the Only Sunday batches that start regularly in all our school locations.
In case of the K11 Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course, the entire duration of learning hours can be attended by a student from home via the live, two-way, interactive video conferencing mode known as the Attend Class From Home (ACFH). This means no relocation is required for students from outstation cities and towns.
In case of the Diploma in Personal Training (DPT) Course, the theory module of the course (approximately 4 months in duration for weekday batches) from the comfort of their homes, and visit the school premises for the practical part of the course (approximately 2 months in duration). This means that the relocation required for a student from outstation cities and towns is required only for 2 months.
If none of the above is possible, then upon request, we can arrange for the practical and theory classes of the DPT Course to be conducted together on the same days which will fast-track the course completion. There is no removal of any unimportant part of the syllabus for fast-tracking, as everything that is taught as a part of the course is important.
Do you provide any job guarantee or placement assistance, and if so where?
Once you have successfully passed the relevant examination(s), we offer placement assistance.

Given the widespread recognition and acceptance of K11 Certification within the fitness industry, it's no surprise that the majority of our students prefer to apply for jobs and start working in gyms independently. In fact, if you were to conduct a survey, you would find that K11 Trainers have been employed in almost every top-of-the-line fitness facility across the country.

For those who require assistance, the K11 Student Placement Assistance Cell helps strengthen their entry into the Fitness Industry with valuable guidance on key areas of Personality Development:

  • Guidance on Professional Ethics and career-building is provided in the Principal's Address session, which is a part of the course.
  • If required, the Cell also provides guidance on creating professionally formatted résumés.
  • If required, the Cell also arranges mock interviews to prepare the students for Job Interviews.
  • The Cell also offers grooming tips to help students present themselves impressively, as is appropriate in the Fitness Industry.

Through the Placement Assistance Cell, students have the opportunity to stay updated on various active vacancies in the fitness industry. Occasionally, employers conduct online presentations, enabling students to learn about available positions. Students then have the option to apply for active vacancies themselves, or, if desired, the Placement Assistance Cell can assist by forwarding their resumes to employers. In such cases, employers will contact the students directly for further processes or interviews. Once students clear the interviews, their careers as Fitness Professionals will start off.

What if I don’t clear the examination on the first attempt?
A student who is not able to clear the examinations in the first attempt will get another attempt at the examination without any cost. Post that, if required multiple re-attempts can be taken by a student by paying a nominal re-examination fee. Certification is earned only upon successfully passing all relevant examinations of the particular course. Talk to a K11 Course Counselor by calling on 7666611011 to understand more about examination rules and regulations.
Do you have any correspondence/online courses?
The theory lectures of the K11 courses are conducted at our Brick and Mortar schools currently present in 4 cities across India, viz. Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Ahmedabad as well as via a Face-to-Face, Interactive Video Conferencing system. The virtual classes allow two-way live interaction of the students with the lecturer just like sitting in a classroom. A student can raise their hand and get the questions answered by the teacher.
However, the Practical Module of the K11 Diploma in Personal Training Course where the form and technique of exercise are taught to students will happen in the exercise LABs, the fully equipped in-house gym floor at all our schools.
This means that students of the DPT Course can attend the entire theory module of the course (approximately 4 months in duration for weekday batches) from the comfort of their homes, and visit the school premises for the practical part of the course (approximately 2 months in duration).
We firmly believe that a fitness professional is incomplete without hands-on practical training which is not possible through correspondence or online learning. Hence, we are strictly against the concept of correspondence courses when it comes to certifying fitness professionals. Our brick & mortar school campuses and exhaustive face-to-face learning experience make a fitness professional qualified from K11 School of Fitness Sciences totally job-ready and extremely effective in the job.
In case of the K11 Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course and the Personal Training for Special Populations (PT-SP) Course, the entire course can be done via the Face-to-Face, Interactive Video Conferencing system (virtual classes).
K11 also has a proprietary examination app that allows remote examination possible for all the theory examinations. This facility allows students to appear for examinations from their homes while getting remotely invigilated.

How much can I earn as a fitness professional?
Fitness Professionals earn their income through professional fees. It is not a salary-based income model for fitness professionals.
It’s hard to put an exact figure on the earnings of a fitness professional as it differs from individual to individual. The amount of time and dedication that an individual puts into his/her profession plays an important role in the earnings. The certification will definitely help in increasing the income potential. There are no high-profile gyms that employ non-certified staff. Trainers in these gyms enter at a minimum salary of Rs.8,000/- to Rs.12,000/- per month; and then with personal training clients which is the actual source of income for fitness professionals, the take-home can go up to Rs.40,000/- to Rs.50,000/- per month. There are many certified fitness professionals who are making in lakhs per month.
I want to open my own gym; will the course help me?
The Diploma in Personal Training Course along with the Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course and Personal Training for Special Populations Certification Course will most definitely make you into a very well-rounded fitness professional. The knowledge of exercise science will help you select the proper equipment for a gym. But the management of a gym, like any other business, is an entirely different ball game. The courses will make you into a professional by teaching you the science of fitness, the product of the gym business, and if you have a knack for the business of fitness, then you most definitely can start your gym or personal training studio and run it successfully.
Additionally to this, the K11 School of Fitness Sciences is soon going to launch Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Workshops for Personal Trainers on Gym & Club Management. These workshops will specifically teach the skill sets required to run a fitness business successfully.
I am a physiotherapist by qualification; do I need to do the K11 Diploma in Personal Training Course?
A physiotherapist is a highly qualified professional, in a field of expertise that is entirely different from that of a fitness professional. The physiotherapist’s role is to look after a person suffering from a musculoskeletal or neuro-musculoskeletal pathology and rehabilitate the person to physiological normalcy. The role of a fitness professional starts at physiological normalcy to take the individual to higher levels of fitness. Hence, a fitness trainer is not qualified to do the job of a physiotherapist or vise-versa, and thus, a Physiotherapist must get qualified in the K11 Diploma in Personal Training Course if they wish to expand their horizons beyond rehabilitation.
I am not very comfortable with English as a language. Do you offer the courses in Hindi or any other regional language?
K11 School of Fitness Sciences has the Diploma in Personal Training Course in the vernacular medium of Hindi. The course content is identical & the certificate given out after successful completion of the course(s) is also the same. Even the course textbooks have been translated to Hindi. We believe that you should study a subject in the language you are most comfortable in for optimal understanding.
What is K11's accreditation or recognition to provide the Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course?
The Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course is a vocational course and currently, in India, there are no accrediting bodies or professional registers to qualify the standards of education, and professionally registered Human Performance Nutritionist.
Only those that have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree can proceed on to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).
As far as the K11 Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course is concerned, it is the most scientifically accurate and up-to-date course in the Fitness Industry.
It has become possible because of K11's constant efforts into research and development of the course syllabus. A dedicated Nutrition Department, which comprises of highly qualified teaching faculty and a research cell, is constantly toiling to make sure that the syllabus and the study material that is delivered in the course are totally and completely scientifically validated and referenced. Everything that is taught in the course is evidence-based.
Will I gain knowledge about steroids or performance enhancement drugs in Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course?
NO. It would be completely unethical for a school teaching fitness sciences to deal with topics related to pharmaceutical drugs. Pharmaceutical drugs as a class of substances are prescription medicines for certain disorders and may have serious adverse side effects if not used under medical supervision, and hence, the Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course will not cover steroids or pharmaceutical drugs. However, sports supplementation and performance-enhancing food supplements are covered in general in the Diploma in Personal Training Course and in-depth in the Human Performance Nutrition (HPN) Certification Course.
I have always been an average student or you may say below average in my academics. After knowing about the high passing criteria, I don’t feel confident about passing. Will I be able to successfully clear the course and get certified?
Grades in school and college never really reflect a person’s true IQ. Interest & passion for the subject matter plays a huge role in your absorption of the course content. Thus, if you have a passion for fitness and exercise, and you are doing the course from the express desire of learning as much about fitness as possible, then passing the examinations will not be difficult. We have many examples of students who were below average in school and have passed the K11 examinations with flying colors.
Can I use the Exercise LAB (School Gym Floor) facility for my workouts while the course is going on?
No, this is not allowed. The use of the LAB is allowed only under the supervision of a K11 Master Trainer during the scheduled practical sessions which are part of the K11 Diploma in Personal Training Course.
I understand that the practical sessions of the DPT Course will teach me how to perform exercises correctly, but do you teach how to teach/coach clients in the course?
The practical classes in the Diploma in Personal Training Course are conducted by the K11 Master Trainers in such a way that a student learns the bio-mechanically correct form and technique of executing exercise movements by themselves, and also the 1:6 ratio of teacher to students make sure that each student gets to see the corrections made on their classmates by the K11 Master Trainer and observe the teaching techniques employed. Client spotting and teaching techniques are taught throughout the practical classes. This gives all students practical and hands-on learning when it comes to teaching exercises to individuals. Further, the DPT Course has an Examination as per international standards called the Training Program Delivery to assess a student’s capability of handling a client and delivering a training program
Is this course recognized by any university and is it a course or a diploma or just a certification?
This category - Diploma in Personal Training, was what the K11 Certified Personal Trainers Course was slotted into, by ICREPs approved Auditors - PD:Approval, who accredited us for our Personal Trainer course to be recognized by the Register for Exercise Professionals India Foundation (REPS India) under Category A - Personal Trainer. Visit www.repsindia.org for more information.
Degree Courses are extensive, ranging from a minimum of 2 years to a maximum of 6 years. The reason for the elongated duration is not the fact that they teach more in-depth about domain expertise. They combine general education, with probably only the last year dealing with the specialization that one chooses to have a profession in.
Diploma courses, on the other hand, are intensive. They are designed in a way such that the learner gets foundation theoretical knowledge about the subject that one chooses to learn, apart from extensive practical training needed in the job industry. It is a type of education that dispenses knowledge with APPLICATION, solely focused on what you have chosen to do professionally. Diploma courses, thus are a maximum of one year in duration.
A Diploma is a term that precedes the term Certification Courses for Vocational Education. It is a more recognizable term simply because it has also been a part of or an offshoot of formal education. This is also the reason why many people insist that one cannot use the term unless one has approval from or association with bodies such as the UGC (University Grants Commission Act, 1956) or AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
The truth, even in the Indian scenario, is:
- An institute, a polytechnic, or a university can offer a diploma course
- There is no need for the institute or the polytechnic to be UGC or AICTE approved
- A diploma is a specific academic award usually awarded for professional/vocational courses
- Diploma programs provide education within your given field and get you into the workspace sooner

K11 Diploma in Personal Training fits all the above criteria, and more importantly, has been approved to be REPS India Category A - Personal Trainer, accredited by ICREPs approved auditor - PD:Approval as a DIPLOMA in Personal Training.
*ICREPs: International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals.
I am not from any fitness background, is it possible for me to make a career in the Fitness Industry?
We have many students who have done the course and became very good fitness professionals without having any background in fitness before the course. This is possible only because our faculty teaches assuming that the students know nothing and cover all the basics. The only thing necessary is a curious, open mind, respect for scientific facts, and a sincere approach to the studies involved in doing the course.
Is it possible to change my batch or to transfer to the school?
Yes, change of batch or transferring the course to any other K11 School is possible. However, this is subject to seat availability in the desired batch and location. A student has to put a request application for the same to the K11 Student Support Cell by writing an email to support@keleven.com or via the Student Support Section on K11’s official website www.keleven.com.
What if I miss a particular lecture or want to re-attend a topic, is it possible?
Yes. Re-attendance of missed classes or re-sitting for classes is allowed for all the courses at K11. However, this is subject to seat availability in the desired batch. A student has to put a request application for the same to the Lecture Recording Department by writing an email to lecturerecording@keleven.com or via the Student Support Section on K11’s official website www.keleven.com.
How can a batch of 40 or 50 students learn practical application together?

They CANNOT. That is why the practical classes in the K11 Diploma in Personal Training Course are conducted in a very healthy Teacher to Student ratio of 1:6. That means, all the batches of the K11 Diploma in Personal Training Course are divided into small groups of 6 students and each group is assigned a K11 Master Trainer. This ensures enough practice time and personal attention from the Master Trainer for all the students.

What is the difference between K11 and ACE, ACSM, NSCA, etc.?
The same difference which is there between a face-to-face learning program and an online/correspondence learning. The K11 School of Fitness Sciences offers courses in its brick & mortar school campuses across the country as well as via two-way live interactive video conferencing virtual classes. The Diploma in Personal Training course, for example, has 222 hours of face-to-face learning comprising 147 hours of classroom lectures and 75 hours of face-to-face practical sessions conducted in the Exercise LAB (school gym floor).
